Are teachers allowed to proctor the exam? Yes, teachers may proctor the exam. Teachers administer the exam during the week of March 22-26, 2010 (alternative dates are possible if your school's spring break is during this time frame). What is the format of the exam? There are 50 multiple choice questions in English. (For further information go to Home, and click on General Information.) How long do students have to take the exam? Students are allowed 40 minutes to complete the exam. What does the exam cost? The exam fee per student is $3; there is a school registration fee ($15-inside the U.S., $25-outside the U.S.; and additional late fees if the registration is not timely postmarked. Is the essay part of the registration process? No. Students who receive a gold medal may compete for a Medusa Exam Achievement Award.
