Prepare for the exam

This year's theme is
"The Rise and Fall Of the Titans."

The study guide/syllabus is posted below.  Please note that this document is to be used as a GUIDE for further student research.

Teachers, feel free to use the projects posted in Lesson Plans and Project Ideas.  It is recommended that students read the primary sources, but they may want to start with the secondary sources to become familiar with the information.   If you order books from Amazon, the American Classical League and Exam Committee members would appreciate your ordering through the American Classical League's account.  Instead of going to Amazon.com, click on this link, ACL Amazon Account.

The study guide is written to be a guide for students to prepare for the Medusa Mythology Exam (and expand their myth knowledge in general).  This study guide is NOT an “end all, be all” list of information that might be on the exam.  The recommended sources (given below) are provided as resources for students to use for study in addition to the more direct mythology dictionaries.  We, the Medusa Mythology Exam Committee, hope that your students will begin (if not continue) to find the original works engaging, compelling, and useful in their study and personal reading.

If students would like to test their knowledge, one way to review would be to take the mythology tests posted on the Florida Junior Classical League web page (http://www.fjcl.org/past-fjcl-tests--certamen.html).  Do note, however, that these tests will cover more than just this year's Exam topic.
