REGISTRATION FOR THE 2008 EXAM

Registration is now open to all students from 6th grade through 12th grade! For the first time, the medusa mythology exam invites all middle-school mythology teachers and students to go "beyond the basics" and explore the subject in depth by participating in our exam. teachers, please note that because mythology inherently involves mature themes sensitive material should be approached accordingly.


The Medusa Mythology Exam Committee is proud to announce its sponsorship of the twelfth annual Medusa Mythology Examination, an international competition
for mythology enthusiasts. The exam is available to all students (regardless of enrollment in a Latin/Greek course) in grades 6-12. The 2008 exam
centers on the mythological theme: “A Plague on Both Your Houses!”(The Houses of Atreus and Cadmus). Questions will focus on the stories and genealogy of the mythological royal families of Mycenae and Thebes and will cover characters and
events from every generation of these two famously unfortunate families.

Sources include (but are not limited to) the ancient works of Aeschylus, Sophocles, Homer and Ovid and modern works such as Tripp’s The Meridian Handbook of
Classical Mythology. A more specific study guide will be posted online in the fall.

The Medusa Mythology Exam has been mailed out to registered schools as
of March 6th. Please contact Clement Testing Services at 703 338 6603
during normal business hours (Eastern Standard Time) if you have any
questions regarding your registration and the shipment of your testing
package.


Spring 2006

The Medusa Mythology Exam Committee is proud to announce its spnsorhsip of the eleventh annual Medusa Mythology Examination. The exam is available to all students (regardless of enrollment in a Latin/Greek course) in grades 9-12. The Medusa was developed in order to allow those talented in mythology an opportunity to excel and be recognized. Another aim is to invrease Classics students' exposure to mythology.
